Advanced skin remodelling
Morpheus8
Deeper renewal. Visible results
Morpheus8 combines fractional radiofrequency with microneedling to remodel collagen and improve skin quality at a deeper level. A powerful, minimally invasive treatment for firmer, smoother and more youthful-looking skin.

What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive medical treatment for the face and body that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. It is used to improve selected concerns about skin texture, firmness and scarring. Because the needles penetrate the skin and deliver heat, treatment requires medical assessment and an individual plan.
At Skin Line, Morpheus8 is available in Sofia Centre, Sofia Mladost, Plovdiv and Varna. This guide covers face and body treatment. Morpheus8 V is a separate procedure and is not covered here.

How does it work?

A handpiece places fine needle electrodes into the skin and delivers RF energy at a depth selected by the practitioner. This produces small, controlled areas of heating and initiates tissue repair and collagen remodelling. The aim is a gradual improvement in the treated skin.
The applicator, energy and treatment depth are chosen for the area and the individual. A facial treatment and a body treatment require different planning; a more intensive setting does not automatically mean a better result.
Which concerns can it treat?
A dermatologist may consider Morpheus8 for:
- Fine lines and selected wrinkles.
- Mild to moderate skin laxity and loss of firmness.
- Uneven texture and the appearance of enlarged pores.
- Selected depressed acne scars, after active inflammation has been assessed.
- Stretch marks and changes in skin quality on the body.
Different scars and skin concerns respond differently. The consultation identifies the main problem and whether RF microneedling is appropriate, or whether another treatment is more likely to help.
Which areas can be treated?
Potential areas include the face, jawline and neck, as well as the abdomen, upper arms, thighs and buttocks. The precise area is agreed after examination and depends on the applicator and treatment plan. Sensitive facial areas require particular care.
Body treatment focuses on selected local concerns. Ask which changes in skin quality or contour are realistic for the area you want treated.
Who is a suitable candidate?
Morpheus8 may suit adults who want to address texture, scars or laxity and who can allow time for recovery and follow aftercare. Suitability depends on skin condition, medical history, medication, previous procedures and expectations.
A range of skin tones can be considered, but pigment changes remain a possible complication. Skin type alone is not a guarantee of suitability or safety.
What results can you expect?
Possible improvements include smoother-looking texture, softer fine lines, less noticeable selected scars and improved firmness. The degree of change varies, and the intended result may not be achieved. Scars or stretch marks may become less noticeable rather than disappear.
Before treatment, agree on priorities and how the result will be assessed. Photographs taken under consistent conditions can make follow-up comparisons more useful. Further or maintenance treatment should follow a review of your response.
When will you see the first results?
Some people notice improvement within a few weeks. Collagen remodelling takes longer, and changes may continue over several months. An early appearance of fullness while the skin is swollen should not be taken as the final result.
Your practitioner will recommend a review date. The timeline depends on the concern, treatment intensity and individual healing, so a fixed deadline cannot be promised.
How many treatments will you need?
Contraindications and reasons to postpone
Treatment may be unsuitable or need postponing in pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or cold sores, impaired healing, significant immune suppression, uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders or a tendency to form keloid scars.
Tell the clinician about electronic implants such as a pacemaker, other implants in the area, cancer or its treatment, active eczema or psoriasis, isotretinoin, blood-thinning medication and allergies to metals or anaesthetics. Recent tanning, sunburn, fillers, threads, injections and energy-based procedures also need assessment. This is not an exhaustive screening list.
Risks and side effects
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, bruising, dryness and small crusts can occur. Other possible complications include infection, cold-sore reactivation and changes in pigmentation.
The FDA safety communication of October 2025 reports serious complications with certain uses of RF microneedling, including burns, scarring, unwanted fat loss, disfigurement and nerve damage. This concerns the technology category and is not a finding about Skin Line. Discuss the benefits, risks and alternatives before deciding on treatment.
Combining Morpheus8 with other therapies
A dermatologist may plan complementary treatments when different concerns need different approaches—for example, a scar-management plan or separate treatment for pigmentation. Combination therapy is not automatically better for everyone.
Tell the clinician about previous or planned fillers, botulinum toxin, threads, lasers and peels. The order and interval depend on the products, treatment intensity and healing. Do not assume they can be performed in the same appointment. Products applied during microneedling also require specific assessment of their safety and intended use.
How to prepare for your treatment
Bring details of your medication, supplements, allergies and previous procedures to the consultation. Mention any history of cold sores or unusual scarring. Avoid arriving with sunburn or a recent tan, and report new irritation or infection.
Request individual instructions about retinoids, exfoliating products and other skincare. Do not stop prescribed medicine on your own. Arrive with the treatment area clean and allow time for assessment, preparation and anaesthetic.
How long does the appointment take?
Recovery after treatment
Redness, warmth and swelling are expected possibilities in the early recovery period. Skin may feel rough or develop small crusts. Skin Line describes reactions often settling within 24–48 hours, while swelling can last around a week; your recovery may be shorter or longer.
Plan around the treated area and your social or work commitments. Increasing pain, spreading redness, blisters, discharge or persistent altered sensation warrant prompt contact with the clinic and medical assessment.
Aftercare
Follow the written plan provided for your treatment. Ask when to begin cleansing and which moisturiser and sunscreen to use. Do not pick crusts or scrub the skin. Recently treated skin can react to products that were previously comfortable.
Avoid direct sun and tanning. Follow the clinic’s restrictions on strenuous exercise, excessive heat, sauna and swimming. Restart makeup and active skincare only when advised and when the surface has healed. Retinoids, exfoliating acids and abrasive products may need a longer pause than a simple moisturiser.
Frequently asked questions
Is Morpheus8 painful?
You may feel heat, pressure or sharp sensations. Discomfort varies with the area, settings and individual sensitivity. Numbing reduces discomfort but does not guarantee a painless treatment. Tell the practitioner if you are uncomfortable.
Is anaesthesia necessary?
Skin Line describes treatment after application of a topical anaesthetic cream. The clinician selects the pain-management approach and checks for allergies or previous reactions. Do not apply numbing medication yourself unless specifically instructed.
Can treatment be performed in summer?
Summer is not an automatic exclusion, but recent tanning, sunburn and planned strong sun exposure can make postponement sensible. Schedule treatment when you can protect the area during recovery, rather than immediately before a beach holiday.
When can I apply makeup or skincare?
InMode gives a general makeup guide of 1–2 days, depending on the area and settings. Wait longer if the skin is unhealed or your practitioner advises it. Makeup, moisturiser and active ingredients have different restart times; follow your individual plan.
When can I return to work?
This depends on visible redness or swelling and the type of work. Desk work and work involving heat, dust, sun or physical exertion need different planning. Allow for several days of visible recovery and ask the clinic for an estimate for your treatment.
What age is Morpheus8 suitable for?
For an adult, the presence of a treatable concern matters more than reaching a particular birthday. A younger person with acne scars and an older person with laxity may need very different plans. Age alone does not establish suitability; assessment must also follow the device’s intended use.
